The Solovetsky Islands, or Solovki are a beautiful group of Islands located in the White Sea in northern Russia. Along with the famous 15th century Solovetsky monastery, this archipelago offers visitors beautiful landscapes filled with unspoiled nature. The islands have minimal human inhabitants, and there are many forests, lakes, and bays to explore. The best time to visit is between June and August when it’s not as cold, but the area is home to many mosquitoes and midges at that time. Guests are encouraged to bring bug spray and wear clothing that covers their whole body when exploring the Solovetsky Islands during those months.
