Drake Passage

This often brutal body of water acts as a connecting point for ships traveling between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The Drake Passage can be violent and chaotic one day or smooth and still the next. The more violent conditions are caused by the frigid waters of Antarctica meeting with the sub-polar waters of Cape Horn and intense winds coming together to create a rapid current. In calm conditions it has been nicknamed the Drake Lake, but as it is so unpredictable, travelers will find it nearly impossible to guess what will happen during their navigation.
