Embark on an epic wayfaring journey with the Insignia. This westward route reveals exotic destinations and hidden gems as you sail along through Hawaii, Australia, Africa, and more. Travelers will have the opportunity to taste some of the best cuisine the world has to offer both onboard and ashore at each destination. Be prepared to explore the far reaching locations of the world as you sail around 6 continents and visit destinations in more than 40 countries along the way.
Your 180-night journey around the world begins in Los Angeles. Head out into the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean to catch a big wave and discover the mysteries of Pacific Islands like Hawaii, French Polynesia, and Fiji. Relax on the sun-kissed beaches of Nawiliwili, travel to one of the world's tallest waterfalls in Nuku Hiva, and swim with manta rays during an overnight stay in Bora Bora. Many other island destinations await your discover, but then it's on to New Zealand and the land down under. Meet a real Kiwi, be immersed in the Maori culture, trek around the Blue Mountains and so much more. An overnight in Sydney provides ample time to explore many well-known landmarks, and a trip to Melbourne can introduce you to the local wine culture of Australia.
The Insignia will then continue on to tour the lands of Asia with destinations throughout Indonesia, Japan, China, and Vietnam. Visit the small village craft markets in Bali, tour the ruins of Nakijin Castle in Okinawa, and step into history as you explore the shrines and temples throughout. A visit to Hiroshima puts you face-to-face with world history, and calls to popular destinations such as Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Hanoi offer some of the most sought after experiences. The journey continues on to Thailand and Singapore where you can wander through golden temples, witness the Emerald Buddha, and get lost exploring a city of contrasts. From there, spend two nights discovering the sought-after sites of Myanmar, then it's on to Africa.
With nearly a month to explore the coastline, there is plenty of time to create dozens of memories in this unique continent. Romantic sites wait for you in the Seychelles, and Lokobe Nature Reserve on Nosy Be will bring you up close to plenty of interesting creatures like lemurs and chameleons. As you continue around along the coast, enjoy various expeditions, safaris and city tours to discover the histories and cultures of Africa. Admire the view from Table Mountain during an overnight in Cape Town, find the massive lagoon in the desert in Namibia, or sip on a cocktail at the extravagant hotels in Maputo.
After a few more stops along the western coast, the Insignia will begin its journey north where you can discover many popular European destinations. Stroll through vibrant markets and picturesque villages as you sail through the Atlantic Islands, then take an excursion to the ancient fortress town of Taroudant in Morocco. Wander through historic cobbled streets, see the operational Tower of Hercules, and tour the Vila Nova de Gaia quarter for a taste of Oporto's wine industry as your voyage continues through Portugal and Spain. Spend the day strolling through the popular sites in Paris, then sail out toward the British Isles for the next leg of the cruise.
Admire the views from the London Eye, then take a boat ride through the canals of Amsterdam. Explore many favorite landmarks throughout Ireland including the 1000 year old Viking Town of Waterford and the famed St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. Learn the secrets of Irish beer and Whiskey making, then journey on to Belfast where you can walk in the footsteps of giants at the Giants' Causeway or explore the ruins of Grey Abbey. From there, the ship will cross the Atlantic Ocean towards your final destination. A quick stop in St. John's, Canada allows you to explore the charm of small-town life with access to the comforts of a large city. Sail on to the "City That Never Sleeps" and explore this dynamic destination by catching a Broadway show or taking a stroll through Central Park. After an overnight in New York, passengers will disembark for the end of the cruise.
