Typically, Ushuaia is a departure port for Antarctic cruises. It is considered the capital of the Argentine Tierra del Fuego province. Located on the Beagle Channel and backed by the Martial Mountains, the city offers an abundance of eco-tourist activities and access to Tierra del Fuego National Park. The End of the World Museum provides regional history exhibits, and the old penitentiary houses the maritime, prison and Antarctic museums.
