Fujairah is the only emirate without any territory on the Gulf; however, it dominates the east coast, which is the most beautiful part of the UAE. Search the ruins of Old Town, including a 300-year-old fort. Bithna, an oasis in the mountains, is a short drive away and has several interesting archaeological sites. The best known is the T-shaped site, or the Long Chambered Tomb, a communal burial site dating in use from 1350 B.C. to 300 B.C.
